My Dreams in Life: 40 Personal Dream List Ideas - What does Danny do? (1)

I recently wrote a post where I came up with this100 life goals.

In it, I tried to focus on specific goals that I had in mind.anycould benefit. I wanted you to stayI ampersonal - a list for everyoneAndersout there looking for inspiration for life purpose.

Although it was intended for others, compiling it inevitably made me thinkMeinDream in life too!

I thought it would be fun to put together a related piece. detailing this timeMeinpersonal wishes,MeinThe dreams and goals that I haveMeinLife.

Knowing a person's personal goals sheds light on who they are.

I thought writing this might help you get to know me a little better. Similarly, learning about the goals of others is always inspiring: it's an incentive to set your own goals.

I hope reading about mine inspires you in some way.

Similarly, from a selfish perspective, there is something powerful about writing goals in your head. When your dreams and life goals aren't expressed, it's all too easy to "forget" they were there.

Talking to others about your goals is a crucial step in committing to them.

My Dreams in Life: 40 Personal Aspirations and Dream List

My future dream list (... aka someone who wants an amazing life dream list!)

Before I begin, I want to point out that this list of dreams is not exhaustive. I hope it changes and changes over time.

Likewise, these goals are terrible when it comes to setting proper goals.

You set big macro goals and you definitely motivate me; I am determined to achieve each one of them.

However, the best goals are well-defined (aka specific), measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound (the classic acronym for SMART goal we keep learning).

The following usually doesn't check any of those boxes!

It doesn't bother me much now... the main purpose of compiling this list of dreams in life is not to find out what I intend to do.reachthose aspirations.

Instead it's easyname-memy main intentions and to keep me on track when posting them. I intend to tackle the finer details step by step...

Anyway, here are 40 of my lifelong dreams.

Oh, and if you're feeling stuck in life right now, do this.look at this posttoo - can help!

1. Work online (one of my life's dreams that I'm already fulfilling!)

Technically this is one of my lifelong dreams that I am already realizing!

And I don't intend to stop anytime soon.

The Internet offers an incredible opportunityStep outside the norm, be your own boss, and earn money along the way. I'm curious if I can do it long term.

2. Make a blog business (my current dream in life)

This is my main focus right now.

My goal is to make a living writing, blogging, and running websites. I am still at the beginning of this journey. However, it makes me feel more motivated now than almost anything in the past.

With the right approach, hard work over time, and a commitment to keep learning, I'm determined to make this happen.

3. Be financially free

Ultimately, this is what I work for.

I hate money and I love it.

I hate how intoxicating it is. I hate how it often dictates your access to opportunities and what you can do in life. I love the process of earning it, keeping it, and having it in the bank as collateral.

My ultimate goal is to get to a point where I am financially free. For me, that means earning so much each month that I don't have to worry about my expenses.

That is also a terrible and poorly defined goal! I'm still figuring out the exact details of what financial freedom means to me.

Is this also one of your dreams? you may likethis post full of affirmations about money!

4. Being in control of my time (living the life of my dreams well)

My dream is to go through life as if time were my most important currency.

You can get more money. More time is not possible. The fact that it's constantly happening with each passing moment is kind of scary! But it also motivates me.

I want to take full control of this. I don't want others to dictate how I spend my time unless it's in a role I'm absolutely passionate about.

5. To earn passive income

My dream future is to earn a living with passive income.

It's been a focus of mine for a while.

I'm still at a point where I trade my time for money. But I want to change that!

This is one of the reasons I like blogging as a business model. Right now it's a significant time investment up front. But it offers the potential to earn money with minimal effort. And since I like managing them, it feels like a worthwhile investment.

6. To write a book

This one is at the top of my mental wish list.

I definitely want to write a book. I'm still working on the details! I don't know if it will be a novel or non-fiction.

However, I am determined to do it. I only have the semblance of an idea and am starting to read up on it. Let's cross our fingers that he can cross the threshold into more action soon.

7. Read as much as you can

Say hello to another missing target!

But for me it's definitely a big problem. I just believe that reading is an essential part of writing. And since I intend to write a book and blog as a business, it seems important!

I also love to read, no matter what kind of book it is. Continuous learning is crucial for a happy life. I try to read it every day, but so far it's a work in progress. This is an area that I really want to improve and make it a priority.

8. Have a published book

If I have to write a book, I would like to publish one!

(Video) 5 steps to designing the life you want | Bill Burnett | TEDxStanford

It would be great to write it anyway.

But to be honest, the idea of being a published author resonates with me even more.

9. Build my own house

I would say that lifelong dream is in my top 3 aspirations right now.

I think about that almost every day!

I would have no idea where to start. But I love the idea of learning how to do it and then getting to work. I love working hard, learning new skills and engaging in creative projects with a tangible reward at the end. Likewise, I like the idea of having full control over how my space looks.

The idea of having a custom base that I built is great.

Building a house appeals to me for all these reasons and more.

10. To invest in real estate

It feeds my desire for passive income.

I need a lot of capital to start. But the property appears to be a good investment. Hopefully with time I can do it.

11. Have a dog

I am determined to one day have my own dog.

There is nothing more to say about it! I love dogs and I think owning one would be an easy ticket to a happier life.

12. Owning, traveling and living in a van

The van life has attracted me for a long time.

I'm close to making that happen. I am determined to have one and equip it so that I can travel and sleep in it while I am away. I am very attracted to the idea of freedom and simplicity associated with it.

[2020 update: After an epic van ride to Australia, I've now checked this dream off my bucket list!]

13. Travel the world hair

I have traveled quite a bit.

But until today it never felt enough! I am determined to travel more extensively. And now that I'm making money along the way, I feel ready for it.

14. To create a community

This lens is relatively new to me.

It came from my desire to build a house. A good friend heard the idea and suggested that he invite other people to be part of the project and live on the property afterwards.

"Because?" I asked.

"Because what's the point of living in a place without others sharing it?" He answers.

His answer moved me. Since that conversation, I've thought more about it and I think I agree. For now though, it's still something I'm considering.

15. Do something worthwhile for others (one of my biggest dreams and aspirations in life)

I want to live a life that focuses on other people.

When it comes to dreams and success, this is a big topic for me.

I know it sounds uplifting and beneficial (for lack of a better word). However, it has been my goal for at least a decade, ever since I began to think more seriously about my future.

I have lived a life of self interest for the past two years. However, I am still determined to do something good for others in whatever I do in the future.

My Dreams in Life: 40 Personal Dream List Ideas - What does Danny do? (4)

16. To work in disaster relief

One area I have been seriously thinking about is disaster relief.

My overall goal now is to reach a financial state where I can passively earn money (or have saved enough) to be able to travel to places that need support and volunteer my time in any way I can to help.

I have done similar work in the past and enjoyed every second of it. If my blogging business plans don't pan out, this is one area where I can see myself looking for a "real" job.

17. Dedicate my time to a good cause

This is another related goal.

However, it is not necessarily about helping others.People. It could be a political cause, an environmental issue, a charitable cause, etc.

I want to find a cause that interests me and get involved to help.

18. To become a leaf on a tree

By that I mean being a part of something bigger than myself.

My father was the one who introduced me to the concept.

It talks about being connected to other people, part of a community, and part of a larger overall purpose. This refers to my desire to do good for others and be part of a good cause.

19. Meditate every day

I believe that meditation is a fundamental part of happiness.

I try to start each day with a short mindfulness practice. It doesn't always happen. But I always feel so much more positive when it's like that.

20. Stay present as much as possible

I also want to spend as much time as possible feeling present.

I often get stuck in the past or thinking about the future. I am prone to some anxiety and melancholy! I find it very easy to walk away from the here and now.

I hope to improve my ability to stay grounded in the present in order to be happier overall.

21. Be more politically aware

I wasn't interested in politics until about 5 years ago!

I'm a little better since then. However, I am still extremely ignorant on most political issues.

It's an area I need to know more about.

22. Living a minimalist life

I want (and I already try) to live as simply as possible.

I don't want to attackThings. I don't want to spend my money on material goods. I just don't think it makes anyone happy in the long run. Instead, I want to invest in experiences, personal growth, and other people.

23. To get out of my head and look outside

I often turn inward.

There is a whole world out there with many problems that need to be solved. I want to get better at getting out of my head! Excessive introspection is not good for anyone.

24. To learn to ride a motorcycle

I really don't know why I'm attracted to it.

In fact, I am quite scared at the prospect of riding a motorcycle. But I also think it would be extraordinarily cool to be able to do that.

I love the idea of owning and riding an old school motorcycle. I would love to travel a country with one in the future.

25. To complete a crazy fitness related challenge

Still undefined!

I have no idea what I would do. But somewhere, deep down, I want to do a crazy fitness challenge. An Ironman, an ultramarathon, a world tour... something like that.

I like the idea of challenging myself and getting really fit in the process. I also like the idea of the sense of accomplishment it would have.

However, I am definitely afraid of the possibility of failure and pain. There is a danger that it is a thought that I use to feel better in some way, an escape into an identity that is better than I really am.

Who knows? For now I think it deserves a place on this list.

26. Be physically active every day

This is something I already agree with.

I live a pretty active life. However, the more involved I am with my blog, the more tempted I am to work on it all day.

Despite this, I am confident that I will always prioritize my physical health. It's definitely one of my long-term macro goals.

27. Prioritize sleep and well-being

I suck little sleep.

I hate feeling tired! I get moody, irritable and find it much harder to enjoy my day. Take caffeine out of the equation and I'm even worse!

(Video) How to know your life purpose in 5 minutes | Adam Leipzig | TEDxMalibu

I need at least 7 hours a night to focus and be productive the next day.

If I really want to get the most out of my life, I have to prioritize my sleep. Long nights, drunken nights and so on don't come with it.

This is related to my general well-being. I intend to cultivate a positive physical, mental and emotional life.

28. Practice gratitude every day.

Gratitude is a powerful tool.

I want to regularly remind myself of what I am grateful for. It's easy to be grateful for the good things. The real trick is to find a genuine appreciation for the trouble ahead.

29. Living in another country

I don't just want to travel the world.

I also want to open stores in new countries. I was born in the UK but (not yet) felt a strong desire to settle there.

I have "lived" in other countries for reasonable lengths of time. However, my goal is to spend years elsewhere as well. I want to know your culture, history and way of life.

30. Learn an instrument

This has been my wish for a long time.

I love music and I would love to pick up an instrument and be able to play it well.

I can play the piano well, but it's definitely not good enough to say I'm playing it well! For now, while I'm on tour, a more realistic instrument I could learn is the guitar. It's a much more convenient instrument to play on the go than the piano (neither of them fit in your backpack!).

I want to learn guitar and work to master it.

31. Learn (and master) another language.

I also speak a little French.

But it is not enough to say that I am bilingual.

I think having a second language is an amazing skill. Suddenly you can communicate with completely new people! This is another big goal of mine.

I thought of combining this goal with my desire to live in another country. Living in a new place is a great incentive to master the language spoken there.

Similarly, property prices in certain parts of France are a bargain compared to England. Something that crosses my mind is the idea of building my house, learning a language and living in a new place at the same time... in France.

32. Learn to cook

Fine, then I can cook.

But I can notcook. I would like to take classes. I would like to better understand the use of flavors and how to work with ingredients to create beautiful dishes.

Like music, food brings people together. A chef has the same special ability as a musician: he can bring people together and connect them through his craft.

33. Learn to grow my own food

I was born and raised in the city.

For a long time I associated groceries with supermarkets!

I have no idea when it comes to gardening. The idea of being self-sufficient and growing my own organic produce is a beautiful idea. A combination with the community project mentioned above could be another idea.

34. Having my own art studio

Since I was a teenager I dreamed of having my own art studio.

I have always loved art and I miss having the space and means to draw and paint.

Strangely, these days, I rarely sit down and do both. However, I still intend to have a study to myself in my future home. Hopefully this will give you the incentive to start over.

35. Surround myself with inspiring people

You are only as good as the people you surround yourself with.

I want to spend my time with people who inspire me. Whether through your intellect, skills, achievements, kindness, compassion, or zest for life, it doesn't matter.

My Dreams in Life: 40 Personal Dream List Ideas - What does Danny do? (6)

36. Having a family (a personal dream for many!)

One day I also want a family.

Having children of your own would be a magical experience. It's not easy, I know, but I can't imagine a future without my own family.

37. Prioritizing satisfaction over happiness (another big problem in my personal dreams)

Happiness is overrated.

It is a relative emotion. To know it, you also have to experience sadness. By nature, it waxes and wanes. As such, striving for constant happiness means setting yourself up for failure.

Satisfaction is the opposite. There is consistency. Contentment exists independently. Being happy means not missing anything. And that seems like a good state to aspire to.

Happiness is great, but contentment is the key to lasting happiness for me. So I intend to cultivate joy in my life.

38. Learn to surf!

This is another relatively new dream of mine, but after my first real attempt at surfing in Bali last year (...I looked awful!) I would love to do more!

Sounds like another great way to spend an afternoon. Not only is it a good workout, but you're out there in the elements, focused on nothing but your board, the waves ahead...and trying not to drown every time a wave hits you.

39. Complete a long-distance walk.

I was hiking in Italy late last year when I met a girl who had been hiking from Canterbury (in the South East of England).

He made the Via Francigena pilgrimage, an epic 1,900 km walk. When I met her, she had been traveling for months, and his last stop was only weeks away: Rome.

Needless to say, she was very nice.

And inspiring.

...And it made me want to do something similar!

40. Do a silent retreat

The last item on my dream list is to stop talking for a while...

I would like to participate in a silent retreat for several reasons.

First of all because I'm tired of how busy my mind can be and I think a week or two of silence might help. Second, because I know a few people who have done this in the past who have said it has been an amazing, insightful (and challenging) experience.

And finally, why have I never done this before! I want to see and feel how it is; how would I handle it and what would I learn.

what are your dreams in life

There you have it then: my dreams in life; a dream list of 40 personal goals and aspirations.

It was fun thinking about them and writing them. Having a concrete, public list of goals is a recipe for more action! I hope they have been useful to you too. Were there any that you addressed? What is your dream or what are yours?dreamsIn the life?
