Samsung Galaxy S23+ vs. Samsung Galaxy S21+: Diseño
In terms of design, they are actually very similar. They are the exact same shape and look very similar overall. However, it's easy to tell them apart thanks to the cameras on the back. The Galaxy S21+ has a dedicated camera island, while the Galaxy S23+ does not. Its camera protrudes directly from the back of the phone. The Galaxy S23+'s camera also takes up more space on the back.
Both phones feature flat screens with an in-screen camera hole in the top center. The bezels on both phones are very thin, and both devices have rounded corners and screen corners. Physical buttons are located on the right side of both devices. Both are also made of metal and glass. The Galaxy S23+ has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, while the Galaxy S21+ has Gorilla Glass Victus on the back.
announcement
The Galaxy S23+ is slightly shorter and wider than the Galaxy S21+. The thickness of the two phones is almost the same. By comparison, Samsung's latest model is 4 to 5 grams lighter. It's worth mentioning that the Galaxy S23+ has a slightly smaller screen and a different aspect ratio, so there's a difference. Both are slippery in the hand and, due to their size, not particularly suitable for one-handed use. However, it's not even close to the biggest phones on the market. However, they feel great in the hand.
Samsung Galaxy S23+ vs. Samsung Galaxy S21+: Pantalla
The Galaxy S23+ features a 6.6-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. This is a flat screen with a 120Hz refresh rate (adaptive). It supports HDR10+ content and gets very bright at a peak brightness of 1750 nits. It has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and the panel is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, the same protection as the back of the phone.
The Galaxy S21+, on the other hand, features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Full HD+ (2400 x 1080) display. The display is also flat and has a 120Hz refresh rate (customizable). It also supports HDR10+ content, but it's not as bright as the Galaxy S23's panel. You can get up to 1300 nits of maximum brightness. The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
announcement
Actually, both panels look great. Both are very sharp, vivid and have good viewing angles. The tactile feedback was also very good during our use, so no complaints here. The difference is very noticeable when used outside in direct sunlight. The Galaxy S23+ panel is noticeably brighter. This screen is better to use even when there is no sunlight. So if you're outdoors a lot, in bright light, the Galaxy S23+ is definitely the way to go. If not, both panels are great.
Samsung Galaxy S23+ vs Samsung Galaxy S21+: Performance
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC powers the Galaxy S23+. The phone also has 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The Galaxy S21+, on the other hand, is powered by the Snapdragon 888 and the Exynos 2100, depending on the market. It includes 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage. The Galaxy S23+ has the edge on the hardware side of performance.
Is this advantage obvious during use? Well, yes, actually. During normal, undemanding tasks, it's less noticeable, as both phones feel remarkably smooth. However, the Galaxy S23+ has no stutter, almost no stutter, and that's something you'll notice on the Galaxy S21+, especially the Exynos model. However, this difference is more pronounced in games. The Galaxy S23+ handles almost any game with ease, just like the Galaxy S21+, but struggles a bit when playing more demanding titles.
Another obvious difference is cooling, especially if you have the Exynos model of the Galaxy S21+. Galaxy S23+ stays cool at all times. The Snapdragon 888 is also good here, but not as good as the Galaxy S23+. So yes, newer models perform better overall, and that's to be expected. However, the Galaxy S21+ is still good, nothing to scoff at.

Samsung Galaxy S23+ vs Samsung Galaxy S21+: Battery
A 4,700mAh battery is inside the Galaxy S23+, while you'll find a 4,800mAh battery inside the Galaxy S21+. In our experience, both phones do a good job when it comes to battery life, but not quite at the level of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The phone has great battery life, so we're not sure why it didn't translate to the Galaxy S23+ since the specs are similar. In fact, according to the specs, the Galaxy S23+ should be able to go further than the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but it doesn't.
The Galaxy S23+ can pass the screen in 8 hours. In our case, we still had around 10-15% battery life at that point, sometimes more. However, please note that the toy is not part of the picture. The Galaxy S21+ is nowhere near those numbers, at least not in the past. However, we are talking about the Snapdragon 888 model. It's about 7-7.5 hours of screen time, though, if memory serves me. Both phones do a great job here.
The Galaxy S23+ supports 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging, and the Galaxy S21+ is at the same level in terms of wireless and reverse wireless charging. However, with 25W charging included, wired charging is a bit slower. One thing to note is that neither phone comes with a charger in the box. If you don't have one, you'll need to buy it separately. Just grab the PD3.0 charger and you're ready to go.
Samsung Galaxy S23+ vs. Samsung Galaxy S21+: Kamaras
The Samsung Galaxy S23+ has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle unit (120-degree FoV), and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (3x optical zoom). The Galaxy S21+ has a 12-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (120-degree FoV), and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens unit (1.1x optical zoom). Now, both phones can take decent photos, but the Galaxy S23+ definitely stands out.
announcement
Both phones take very nice photos in daylight, but the Galaxy S23+ manages to capture more detail. It also does a better job in photo balance and HDR situations. In low light, both phones managed to keep a lot of light out of the shadows, but the photos taken by the Galaxy S23+ looked sharper overall. You will definitely notice the difference.
The telephoto camera works best on the Galaxy S23+, as the Galaxy S21+ doesn't offer anything close to 3x optical zoom. The ultra-wide-angle daytime camera does a good job on both phones, but the photos on the Galaxy S23+ look less artificial. It also works better in low light. Video recording is good on both, but once again the Galaxy S23+ stands out as images appear to be more stable and better processed. But the difference is not huge, not at all.
sound
There is a set of stereo speakers on both smartphones. The speakers on both devices sound good, but the Galaxy S23+ seems to offer a better balance. It sounds a little different, a little more detailed. The difference isn't huge, and both phones are great in this regard.
announcement
What you won't find on any phone is an audio jack. If you want to connect your headphones via cable, you're going to have to use this Type-C port. If not, the Galaxy S23+ includes Bluetooth 5.3, while the Galaxy S21+ includes Bluetooth 5.0.
